The Government Services Portal Project

The Electronic portal for government transactions www.saudi.gov.sa is a combined web site that aims at facilitating the transactions of citizens, expatriates and private sector with governmental organizations, and increasing the level of transparency. The national electronic portal for government transactions is considered a channel that provides information on the governmental services, organizations, systems, regulations, national plans and initiatives, electronic services, and news and activities. A visitor of this portal shall get benefit from the information available therein with utmost smoothness.

Launching Phase

Since launching the first phase on (24th Zul Heja 1427H, correspondent to 14th January 2007) the portal has provided some prominent services as follows:

• Governmental Services: The portal provides information on more than two hundred governmental services . This information covers the service description, requirements, and relevant forms. The number of e-governmental services is continuously growing.
• Governmental Systems and Regulations Directory: A directory that includes the systems and regulations published by the concerned governmental organizations on their web sites.
• National Plans and Initiatives: Provide information on most prominent national plans and initiatives.
• Governmental Organizations Directory Provides the contact information of the governmental organizations which includes the telephone number, fax number, e-mail address, web address of more than one thousand main and subsidiary governmental organization.
• Web links of many electronic services provided by governmental organizations on their web sites.

Next Phases:

The portal structure and design is made to become a combined entrance that leads to the electronic governmental services that will be gradually boarded to the portal. The concept of electronic services is to facilitate the transactions between the beneficiary and the government service provider at anytime and anywhere in a simple and secure electronic, so that the beneficiary is not required to visit the service provider.
